CI5441: Teaching Literature in the Secondary School

3 Credits

This three-credit course focuses on theories of teaching literature and their practical applications for middle and secondary classrooms. Literature instruction involves a dynamic interaction of readers, texts, and contexts. This interaction will be central to all our work in the course. In addition, this course is designed to allow space to think more reflectively and reflexively on what it means to be a teacher in the process of "becoming" and how this impacts your practice related to teaching literature/literacies in the secondary classroom. prereq: English ILP cohort students only
